500 Days of Summer
and i nearly forgot to review this movie. it's sort of a love story but sort of not, like it says, but it was really good. funny and entertaining. the stories go back and forth between the 500 days so it's a bit confusing what happened when, but you'll get the general gist of it. joseph gordon levitt was great, good to see him branching out into more adult roles. and zooey deschanel looked really comfortable playing this character. the realist revolution has hit the movies. Especially you Jenny Beckman. Bitch. Lolz..

Harry Potter 6: The Half Blood Prince
i think the fifth movie was better. of course, the third movie is still the best. this would be the first harry potter movie i'd have watched after reading the book first. this might be part of the reason why it didn't blow me away like i expected. leave it to the trailers to leave no stone unturned. although they did re-write a lot of scenes, and they cut out a whole lot of the narrative, which made the movie title seemingly a tad irrelevant. lol. of course the narrative was pretty long and dragging by itself already, and the ending was definitely not as hyped up as it was supposed to be. the acting was still more of the same. the kids have reached a stable acceptable level of acting skill. the special effects were also the same usual that we've come to expect from most movies nowadays. however, my big disappointment was the musical scoring. it just didn't accompany the movie very well, which probably factors into the lack of suspense or excitement near the end of the movie. this is one movie that definitely did not live up to the book. of course the book form for the sixth book particularly does not lend itself well to the big screen medium. i wonder how the seventh (and eighth) movie will go?
Hannah Montana: The Movie
i loved it. granted, it was incredibly implausible. but i loved it. and the music was great.

Transformers 2
i should have known michael bay would find some way to ruin this movie for me. it took entirely too long to start. and i really don't care much for war or...oh wait... was this a new movie?? lol. yeah, okay. the movie is good. i still like the first one better. (i hardly get the purpose of sequels. oh wait, right, more money.) anyway, this one is good nonetheless. of course it is. because it's the same story line, the same cast, the same acting, the same producers, the same soundtrack, the same special effects, the same director, the same friggin' sets. the only notable difference is the increase in the number of military planes, tankers, ships, subs, trucks, cars, rail guns, and explosions. so i guess non-discerning guys would enjoy this movie. although for some reason, i'm hard pressed to think of a similar movie that doesn't have those annoying bit characters in it that constantly makes everything harder for everybody else. you know, the extremely minor character that gives away the position of the good guy or that 'unknowingly' tells the enemies exactly what they shouldn't know right off, or incidentally causes the plot yarn to spin. you'll know these characters because more often than not they're annoying government clones in suits, that get their comeuppance later on. whatever. anyway, shia labeouf is awesome. and megan fox is hot. the fight between autobots and decepticons is never fair. and everything else is abysmal.
